As the end of the year approaches, are you starting to think about 2019? Perhaps, you have already signed in to do a Talk, prepared a book you want to launch, or a new business to rock the world?  Are You Dreaming Of Something Bigger? Have you set your mind on some new and exciting event? A yet to be experienced adventure? Another article to change the way we think?

-The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams – Eleanor Roosevelt

They say to live in the present is the path to success but a little planning is essential. Whether you use a V.A. Buffer, Hoot-suite or your own diligent fingers, you are have to be a couple of steps ahead right? But what about the Bigger Picture? The thing you are still dreaming about? That topic that gets you all excited and scared at the same time?

It was only a couple of months ago, I came away from a riveting conference in London with a few hot ideas. I was going to start this and connect with her and then change this and say no to that. But the biggest takeaway was a question to myself: Are You Dreaming Of Something Bigger? Or more accurately Aren’t you dreaming of something bigger?

-If you can dream it, you can do it – Walt Disney

The question set me to pacing about trying to dig in and find my “Big Dream”. I even delved into forbidden territory viewing what others were doing and achieving, I believe they call it ‘compare-itis’ these days. Well, I slapped myself out of that one fast. As we know in theory but not always in practise, that is a dead-end road.
I don’t know how you find your way to getting answers to those ‘Big Questions’ but for me, it is about taking action.
Doing things, physical moves, smart moves but always movement. I have a friend who calls it ‘moving meditation’ and that is exactly what she does – move and meditate. However you find the answer, through movement or meditation or a fine combo version – do it. Dreams only happen when you act upon them.

-The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams – Oprah Winfrey

I can share some actions I practise that starts the ball rolling and moves me into the ‘scary but exciting’ arena.

  • Stop overthinking and analysing
  • Say YES to every opportunity
  • Declutter, something or everything

Pack yourself a bag filled with your favourite pencils, a notebook, camera/phone, music to sweeten the nights, all your experiences, good, bad and ugly, some dark chocolate and JUMP onboard your magic carpet. Whatever happens you will learn from it, gain from it, make new friends, read new books, try new food, and most of all learn about your own strengths, needs and desires.
As they say, what is there not to love about it?

In last weeks blog, I wrote that you have to start somewhere and sometime. If you are feeling uneasy, unsettled and unsure, check it out  and see how you can grow your courage muscles now.
