You all know that story about being stuck in the elevator with the top person in your profession? Perhaps some one like Sheryl Sandberg or Richard Branson?
Suddenly, the lift stops, between the 11th and 12th floor. After you both let out your own particular words of fear, s/he turns to you and says, ‘So, what do you do?’
Now you have 30 seconds to a minute to pitch your Biz-Nizz. What do you say?
How do you create short, exciting and engaging phrases to make Sheryl and Richard’s eyebrows rise and fix you up an appointment in their office for the next day?

There are many ways to approach this topic but sometimes the best solutions come from simple ideas, followed by plenty of hard work and action.

The Number One Strategy at Step Up & Stand Out to Spice Up Your Pitch is, a simple but very effective exercise.

Write out your best pitch phrase, then write another!
Write 10 more versions underneath. Don’t stop, keep going, keep re-writing another 5 more versions of your best sales pitch lines.

No correcting, no checking spelling or grammar and no reading over the lines. Just write and keep writing.

As Natalie Goldberg says in her treasure of a book called; ‘Writing Down the Bones’
-Don’t think. Don’t get logical. Lose control and go for the jugular –

You will feel exhausted and liberated. You will be curious to read your results. You will find gems and nuggets of spicy pitch phrases. Once you have read them through, you will pick out the top 5 and further craft and edit. Perhaps, there will be 2 or 3 spicy lines that suit you. Work on them, shape and shine them and try them out in front of the mirror and with selected friends. Stand in front of an image of Sheryl or Richard, and give ’em your best!

When you rehearse those spicy lines, don’t forget to smile! I mean smile with your eyes.
Your smile is contagious, your positive energy is infectious and top business people pick up on that and remember you for it.

And, whatever happens in that lift or during your interview, remember this wise phrase; If not this then something better.
It is a positive motto to carry with you in all areas of your life.
Be brave and be honest. You will discover the hot spicy lines to seduce any business person and convince them that what you have to offer is the best in your field.

So, when you do get stuck in the lift with the rich and famous, your words will be short, sweet and super tempting.
